Padma Oil Company is one of the largest Jet Fuel A1 suppliers in Bangladesh. The Padma Oil Company supplies the Shah Amanat International Airport (SAIA) as well as the Bangladesh Air Force Base (BAF) with Jet Fuel via road tankers. By making use of road tanker to transport the fuel, Padma, MI, SAIA and BAF operations are highly sensitive to traffic congestion, political strikes, vehicle breakdown and theft.
The scope of the project was to perform the Detailed Design in order to install a pipeline from the Padma Oil Company Main Installation (MI) Depot to the SAIA with a spur line to the BAF. The scope also includes the design of a storage depot and an aircraft refueling hydrant line at BAF.
From MI to SAIA is an 8” 5.8km Jet Fuel A1 pipeline with a 6” 140m spur line to BAF new Storage Depot. The BAF Storage Depot consists of 4 x 80m3 semi underground horizontal storage tanks, road loading facilities, firefighting system and various processing equipment. From the BAF storage depot, a 6” 1.5km hydrant line sufficient to supply 3 large aircraft simultaneously with Jet Fuel A1 was designed for use by the Air Force.
EPCM was awarded a Consulting Engineers role which was divided into 4 sections: Inception Report, Prefeasibility Report, Feasibility Report and FEED Report.

- Geotechnical Survey;
- Assistance with completion of EIA report;
- HAZOP Study;
- Feasibility Study;
- FEED study including P&ID’s, Process descriptions and philosophy, MSD’s, equipment datasheets, hydraulic report, detailed mechanical and civil drawings, etc.; and
- Compilation of EPC bidding documents as per FIDIC conditions of contract
