BMW SA decided to install company owned storage and fuel distribution assets for various grades of fuel used on the manufacturing and vehicle distribution facility. Total underground capacity installed was 210 000 L in double walled monitored tanks with approximately 4 kilometers of double walled supply piping. Ground conditions for excavation included rock and the construction specifications were of an international standard
Services Provided:
- Breaking of concrete hardstand and excavating new tank pit;
- Installation of 4 off underground storage tanks at main production plant and 3 off underground storage tanks at Vehicle Distribution Centre. Integrating the new storage capacity with existing company owned storage capacity and linking with production plant filling point;
- Maintaining vehicle flow around the site by phased installation of supply piping to production plant; and
- New concrete hardstand and full commissioning of facility with automatic monitoring, level gauging and reporting functions.
