Lepelle Northern Water is a municipal pipeline network owner currently operating 20 water treatment schemes and 5 waste water works spread across the Capricorn, Sekhukhune, Mopani and Waterberg Districts in the Province of Limpopo. EPCM were contracted by VIVA Engineering (Pty) Ltd to install the Cathodic Protection system for a water pipeline.
The project was delivered within a six-month window carried out in one phase. Once the CP installation was complete, EPCM was considered to operate and manage the integrity of the systems.
The initial scope included the supply, installation and commissioning of four new Cathodic Protection systems, including the refurbishment and commissioning of four vandalised Cathodic Protection systems at various sites within the Ba-Phalaborwa district.
In addition to above, EPCM was tasked with:
- Soil resistivity testing;
- Resistance to Earth Survey and Testing;
- Deep-well Installations (drilling, casing, anodes and backfilling);
- Transformers supply; and
- Supply and installation of Durasafe bunkers
