EPCM was appointed to do a feasibility investigation for using waste vegetable feedstock to generate biogas for heating purposes on Famous Fresh premises in City Deep, Johannesburg. A small pilot-scale digester was constructed and is being operated as part of Phase 1. Current testing and gas analysis are supported by the University of Johannesburg. The project forms part of research for upscaling the gas production for power generation from waste to supply City Power in the future
