EPCM of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) 2 x Mother Stations and 3 x Daughter Stations
The Government of Tanzania is implementing its upstream and downstream oil and gas projects through Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC). TPDC is the National Oil Company, 100% owned by the Government. TPDC in partnership with IOCs has conducted successful exploration programs leading to natural gas discoveries. To date, the discovered gas initially in place (GIIP) is 57.54 TCF. In order to utilize the discovered resources, the Government through TPDC has invested and commissioned a National Natural Gas Infrastructure (NNGI). The NNGI serves as the main infrastructure for processing and transporting gas to the consumers.
TPDC has invested in the development of CNG as means to transport gas through a virtual pipeline to various customers. This project entails the erection of 2 mother stations and 3 daughter stations in and around Dar Es Salaam.
At the mother stations, natural gas is compressed to 250 bar into a truck trailer or high-pressure storage. This “tube trailer” acts as a virtual pipeline which transports the CNG via road to the daughter stations. At the daughter stations, the gas is transferred from the tube trailer to the final user. The gas is routed to a skid based PRMS unit equipped with a duty/standby filter system to protect downstream equipment.
