Engineering, procurement and construction of the replacement of three 32″ defected crude oil pipelines by means of hot-tap works and by-pass lines
Defected pipe replacement at KP 238, KP 362 & KP925 on 32″ waxy crude oil line in Sudan. The replacement was done by hot tap stopple bypass system ensuring the line stays in production. Operating conditions were 45Bar pressure and 70ºC
The Bashayer pipeline is a crude oil transportation pipeline that transports crude oil from Al Jabalyn in South Sudan to Port Sudan in Sudan. As part of BAPCO’s maintenance program, defected pipeline sections was required to be replaced by means of hot-tapping works.

- Welders will be qualified according to the applicable WPS/PQR
- X-ray non-destructive testing;
- PMI (Positive Material Identification) of piping performed during fabrication;
- Performing of hot taps on to the operating live pipeline
- Performing of line stops with the stopple technique
- Using bypass pipelines to keep the pipeline in operation
- Provision of first aid facilities, transport to and from site, all non-destructive testing equipment, temporary lighting and consumables
