NDT and Heat Treatment
Overview
EPCM Holdings’ non-destructive testing (NDT) testing and heat treatment teams have over thirty-five years of experience. Predominantly in the oil & gas, petrochemical, mining and railroad industries.
NDT is a broad group of testing and analysis techniques used by industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component, structure or system for characteristic differences or welding defects and discontinuities without causing damage to the original part.
NDT ensures the safe and efficient operation of equipment and assets by detecting defects before they result in severe damage and ensuring compliance with international standards. Resulting in plant assets and products remaining operational, reliable and safe. Avoiding the potential for catastrophic consequences and financial losses with early detection of problems before they cause damage, operating inefficiencies or in-service failure.
From construction sites, pipelines and refineries to shipyards and nuclear power plants, you need to monitor and improve the reliability of your processes and equipment. Our NDT services offer you complete or sample examination of your assets using well-designed procedures and highly trained and certified inspectors. As a result, we can provide you with complete and valuable data, enabling you to make informed asset management decisions.
Our vast expertise and knowledge in NDT and materials testing mean we can select the proper techniques and procedures to detect defects and irregularities in your products, equipment, production facilities or plant assets. And so provide you with the necessary data to assist you in making informed decisions.
Our NDT services include:
- Infrared Thermography Infrared thermography (IRT)
- Ground Penetrating Radar Ground-penetrating radar (GPR)
- Ultra Sonic Inspection (also known as ultrasonic NDT or simply UT)
- Radiographic Inspection
- Guided Ultrasonic
- Magnetic Flux Leakage Inspection System
- RFD Rain Inspection
- Phased Array Weld Inspection
- HANDWave
- Magnetic Particle Inspection
- Dry Penetrant Inspection
- Corrosion Mapping
- TOFD Weld Inspection
- 3D Laser Scanning
Heat Treatment
Heat Treatment is the controlled heating and cooling of metals to alter their physical and mechanical properties without changing the product shape. Heat treatment is sometimes done inadvertently due to manufacturing processes that heat or cool the metal, such as welding or forming.
Some of EPCM’s heat treating methods include:
- Post Weld Heat Treatment
- Pre-Heat
- Normalising and Quenching
